Vaxco Pharmaceuticals believes that strength in research and development is key to long-term sustainability.  This strength cannot be measured on creative or scientific abilities alone, but also through efficiency of ideas, operations and product implementation.  With each discovery comes seemingly limitless opportunities and it is our focus to utilize the ever-burgeoning derivatives of our research.

With the proprietary knowledge gained from HCI001, our vaccine to treat metastatic melanoma, Vaxco Pharmaceuticals has been able to accurately identify and select immunogenic peptides that can stimulate a specific immune response for other types of cancer including lung cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer and breast cancer.  However, vaccines for these tumor types are only the beginning; our library of fully analyzed tumor specific antigens includes hundreds of proteins specific to a multitude of different cancers.

We are also investigating the possibility of using our vaccines in the preventative setting.  As further research is conducted this reality becomes more focused.  In the preventative setting, Vaxco Pharmaceuticals hopes to treat patients before they are afflicted with cancer. This type of treatment could, in the future, make cancer synonymous with smallpox - a disease of the past.  

As our pipeline grows and our products begin to penetrate the market, we plan to expand our vaccine development to areas outside of cancer treatment.  Unlike current vaccines that trigger an immune response against foreign entities like viruses, our vaccine technology makes it possible to elicit an immune response against the body's own diseased tissues.  This reveals opportunities for the treatment of certain autoimmune diseases and chronic illnesses such as rheumatoid arthritis and crohn’s disease.  This is revolutionary and exciting.
